DP World Tour: Scott Jamieson wins Nexo Championship as overnight leader Shaun Norris falls short after penalty drama

Scott Jamieson ended a 14-year wait for a DP World Tour title with an emotional home victory at the Nexo Championship, as overnight leader Shaun Norris faded after being given a mid-round penalty.

Jamieson overturned a two-shot deficit during an eventful final round at Trump International Golf Links, where a five-under 67 saw him finish on 11 under and two strokes clear of England's Matthew Jordan.

The Scotsman mixed a lone bogey with six birdies - including four in a five-hole stretch around the turn - to pull clear of a congested leaderboard and claim a first DP World Tour title since December 2012.

Jordan ended runner-up ahead of England's Andy Sullivan, with Quim Vidal, Marcus Kinhult and Keita Nakajima sharing fourth on six under, while Norris was a further stroke back after being handed a two-shot penalty on his front nine.

Norris was sharing the lead entering the back nine when he was assessed for the penalty, having been deemed to have improved his stance, with the South African eventually posting a four-over 76 to end tied-seventh on five under.

Jamieson took advantage of the par-five fourth and posted back-to-back birdies from the seventh - including a 25-footer at the eighth, to reach the turn in 33 and tied for the lead alongside overnight leader Norris.

That quickly changed ahead of the pair teeing off at the 10th, with Norris adjudged to have broken Rule 8.1 - Players Actions That Improve Conditions Affecting the Stroke - in moving a divot from under his feet in the fifth fairway.

It turned Norris' par on the hole to a double-bogey six, with Jamieson capitalising on being handed the outright advantage by birdieing the first two holes of his back nine to jump three ahead.

Jamieson failed to get up and down from the sand to save par at the 13th but birdied the next, where Norris holed from a 65-footer to also pick up a shot, before closing out victory with four straight pars.

"Fourteen years, that's wild," Jamieson said about his victory. "It's just so tough, so hard to win. I was so patient all day... just can't believe I've won."

Jordan - also playing in the final group - bounced back from bogeying the 17th to birdie the last and grab solo second, while Norris' frustrating Sunday finishing with him double-bogeying his final hole of the day.

The DP World Tour stays in the UK for the Husqvarna British Masters, held at The Belfry, with the tournament also the opening event in the qualification campaign to feature in the 2027 European Ryder Cup team.
